A line, invisible.

This little project came together pretty much by itself as soon as I set foot into the magical mountain range of the Carnian Alps – a borderland tucked away between Austria and Italy that holds remnants of a violent past.

A once embattled front line in the First World War ingrained in a series of steep mountains and lush valleys.

So capturing this gorgeous vista with my trusty Canon AE-1, passing by overgrown trenches, crumbling outposts and turrets of rock and frequently traversing this now invisible line with the misfortune of so many in mind, came with a dark overtone, a striking antithesis.

All shot with Canon AE-1 on Kodak Portra 400.
